Battery Life and Replacement
We send out Tank Utility monitors with 4 AA long-life lithium batteries that are expected to last 2.5 years.
Replacing Your Batteries
To replace your batteries you will need a #2 screwdriver to open up the grey monitor enclosure, and a small (#1) screwdriver to open the black battery pack. The monitor uses AA batteries - we recommend Energizer Ultimate Lithium.
After you change the batteries your unit should resume readings as planned - you may want to double-press the button to make sure everything is working correctly.
If you double-press the button and the LED does not light up, please go through the setup procedure again.
Exceptionally Short Battery Life
If your batteries have died long before the 2.5 year life expectancy, please contact us. There may be a different problem with your monitor that is draining the batteries.
